This weekend, we went to Carmel for a visit. I had a great time.
We tried a new restaurant in one of the hideaways called Basil Seasonal Dining. Their menu is based on seasonal products. They have locally grown produce & organic ingredients. They have fresh wild & sustainable seafood everyday. The food is modern & creative California cuisine.
The top right starts with bread with a basil pesto spread. The middle right is our small plate of Spring Gnocchi with green olives, baby squash & zucchini. The bottom right is one of their specials of the day; a seafood soup, it has shrimp, calms, mussels & scallops with a side of garlic bread. The top left is the Basil burger. The bottom left is the side of Cauliflower soup.
On the top left is the side of lentil. The bottom left is a Beet salad. On the top right is my dish, the Spring Asparagus Ravioli sprinkled with parmesan.
Everything tasted great, the seafood soup has a bit of a kick though. Water is precious in California, you must ask for water if you want some.
